As possibilities increased, China is faced with many unknown challenges and crises.
Remains can be seen everywhere in daily life. Recording the various temporary sites today with the neutral camera is like working on a “Historical Record” for the current society by an impartial official historian in ancient China, free from any personal preference.
Some of them were only there for a couple of days, some may remain for years without anybody’s notice. As Chinese economy develops, the environment underwent unremitting updating and rebuilding. Construction and dismantling, rise and fall are repeated every day like a TV series. Like the monuments created and destroyed by human beings, those sites appeared because of prosperity, and became isolated because of obsolete. Where they are going in the increasingly deteriorating environment?
Jin Youming, born in Hangzhou in 1981. As a freelance photographer, curator, and co-founder of DESE Space & Fototime, he has been working to integrate and expand contemporary photography and art, and illustrate the relationship between man, society and environment.
