Eduard Stranadko is the President of the National Society of Photo Artists of Ukraine (NSPAU). Born in Ukraine in 1958, he taught photography in a university in the former Soviet Union before becoming a photojournalist of the magazine Life in St. Petersburg. After Ukraine gained its independence, he went back to his home country to work as a photojournalist. In 1989, he began to dedicate himself to photography study, and was one of the founders of NSPAU. In 1997, he became a member of the Standing Committee of the Ukrainian Journalists Union. With over 50 photography publications, Stranadko has held 66 personal photography exhibitions, and has been invited to more than 100 international photography exhibitions and art festivals. He won the Ukrainian President’s Award in 2006, 2012 and 2016 respectively. In 2011, he was awarded the Outstanding National Staff Award by the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine. In 2012, he took up the post of the President of NSPAU.
